What is the boiler feed water temperature?

The boiler feed water temperature refers to the inlet water temperature of the economizer. If there is no economizer, it refers to the inlet water temperature of the drum. Increasing the boiler feed water temperature can improve the boiler efficiency accordingly. There are several links to increase the feed water temperature. From steam extraction and heating of the turbine to reheating of the boiler economizer, the heat dissipation loss should be used as much as possible to increase the feed water temperature. The higher the boiler water temperature is, the less the fuel consumption will be, and the higher the boiler efficiency will be. The influence of feedwater temperature increase on boiler thermal efficiency can be discussed in two cases. In the first case, the boiler evaporation is assumed to be constant. When the feed water temperature increases, the heat absorption of the economizer decreases due to the reduction of heat transfer temperature difference, the flue gas temperature at the economizer outlet increases, the temperature and pressure of the air preheater increases, the heat transfer increases, and the hot air temperature slightly increases. The increase of exhaust gas temperature reduces the thermal efficiency of the boiler. However, the heat used for evaporation increases after the feed water temperature increases, which increases the evaporation capacity. In order to keep the evaporation capacity unchanged, it is necessary to reduce the fuel quantity, which will reduce the exhaust gas temperature and improve the thermal efficiency of the boiler. Since these two factors have roughly the same effect on boiler efficiency, when the boiler evaporation is kept constant, the feed water temperature will increase and the boiler thermal efficiency will basically remain unchanged. The second is to assume that the amount of fuel is constant. When the feed water temperature increases, the temperature and pressure of the economizer decrease, the flue gas temperature at the outlet of the economizer increases, the heat absorption of the preheater increases, the exhaust gastemperature increases, and the thermal efficiency of the boiler decreases. As the temperature of hot air increases, the furnace temperature rises, and the heat absorption of water wall increases.
